Evening Prayer
As this day comes to a close, we think about the parts of us that felt worn down — energy spent, patience thinned, hope stretched a little thin by the demands of today. Tonight, we bring those depleted places to You, trusting that restoration isn’t out of reach, even for the ordinary weariness of an average day.
There were moments today we felt like we were running on empty, pushing through rather than pausing to be renewed. We release that depletion now, believing that You are able to restore what today wore away — not just dramatic losses, but the small, everyday erosion of energy and spirit. Thank You for a faithfulness that rebuilds, little by little, even while we sleep.
As we close this day, let rest tonight be more than physical recovery — let it be part of a deeper restoration, one that touches the places only You can reach. We trust that morning will bring renewed strength, exactly where today left us feeling worn.
A Word of Reflection
Restoration isn’t reserved only for dramatic loss — it applies just as much to the quiet wear of ordinary days. “I will restore to you the years that the locusts have eaten” (Joel 2:25) reminds us that God rebuilds what time and effort slowly diminish, not just what sudden crisis takes. Tonight, whatever today wore down in us, we can trust that restoration is already underway, even as we rest.
