Morning Prayer

Morning Prayer

Good and generous God, we wake this morning into a day we did not build and cannot control — and we are grateful. Before we lift a hand or take a single step, you have already gone ahead of us. Every breath is evidence of your provision. Every meal, every relationship, every small mercy we almost miss — all of it flows from your open hand. We begin today not in worry, but in wonder at how consistently you show up.

As we move into this day with its needs and unknowns, quiet the anxious voice that says it might not be enough. You have not failed us yet, and your faithfulness does not expire. Where we face lack today — in finances, in energy, in courage, in clarity — remind us that our need is never bigger than your supply. We trust you not because everything is certain, but because you are.

A Word of Reflection

Provision is not always dramatic. More often it arrives quietly — in the form of exactly enough, right on time. It asks us to pay attention, to notice the ways God fills what we could not fill ourselves. Paul wrote from a prison cell when he declared, “My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). That context matters — this was not a man writing from comfort, but from confinement, and still he was certain. Whatever you face today, that same certainty is available to you.
