Evening Prayer — Purpose | Friday, May 8, 2026

Evening Prayer

God of every good plan, as this Friday evening settles we bring you the full weight of the week — the moments that felt purposeful and the ones that felt aimless, the clarity we found and the questions we still carry. You were present in all of it. Even the hours that felt ordinary were not outside your design. You do not waste a single day of the lives you have made.

Tonight we release the need to have everything figured out. Purpose does not require certainty — it only requires trust. You have gone before us into next week the same way you went before us into this one. We close this Friday not with a completed map, but with a settled confidence in the one who holds the map. That is enough to rest on.

A Word of Reflection

Purpose is rarely revealed all at once. More often it unfolds one faithful step at a time, visible only in hindsight. The people of Israel received this promise while sitting in exile — far from where they expected to be — and yet the word held: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). Tonight, whatever your week looked like, you are still inside a plan that has not been abandoned. Rest in that.
