Evening Prayer — Mission | Tuesday, June 17, 2026

Evening Prayer

Lord, as this Tuesday evening settles in, we return to you with open hands and grateful hearts. You sent us out this morning as people with purpose, and now we come back to you at the close of day — carrying whatever happened in between. Some of us stepped boldly into the mission you placed before us. Others of us moved quietly through the day, unsure if anything we did mattered much at all. And yet we trust that you were present in all of it — in every conversation, every small act of kindness, every moment where we chose patience over frustration or grace over judgment. None of it was wasted.

There is something humbling about the word “sent.” It reminds us that we do not go anywhere on our own authority or in our own strength — we go because you have called us and because your Spirit goes with us. Tonight, as we reflect on the day, we release any sense of failure or inadequacy to you. Maybe the conversation we hoped to have did not happen. Maybe we felt invisible or ineffective. That is in your hands now, Lord. Your mission does not hinge on a single day’s performance — it is a long and faithful work, and we are simply willing participants in something far larger than ourselves.

Rest us deeply tonight so that we wake again tomorrow ready to be sent once more. Let the mission continue — not as a burden but as a privilege, not out of obligation but out of love. We are yours, Lord. Use us however you will.

A Word of Reflection

To be sent is one of the greatest honors we can receive, and it is a calling that does not clock out at the end of the workday. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” — Matthew 28:19. This commission is not about grand gestures or platform — it is about faithful presence, one day and one person at a time. As you rest tonight, know that whatever faithfulness you offered today — however small it felt — was received by a God who sees every act done in his name and counts it as eternal.
