Morning Prayer — Hope | Thursday, June 25, 2026

Morning Prayer

Father, we wake into this Thursday morning with grateful hearts, aware that the simple gift of a new day is itself an act of your grace toward us. Before the busyness of the hours ahead takes hold, we take a moment to breathe you in — to remember that we are not walking this life alone. Today we bring to you the hope you have placed within us: a hope that does not disappoint, a hope rooted not in circumstances but in the unchanging character of who you are.

There are places in our lives where hope feels fragile right now — circumstances that have stretched on longer than we expected, prayers that seem to linger unanswered, hearts that are quietly weary from waiting. We bring those places to you this morning with open hands. We are not asking you to remove the uncertainty, but to fill us so completely with your presence that hope rises in us the way the sun rises on this new day — steadily, surely, without asking our permission. You are the God of hope, and we receive that identity as our own this morning.

Let this Thursday be marked by a hope that overflows — into our conversations, our decisions, and the quiet moments in between. May those around us sense something different in us today: a peace that doesn’t quite make sense, a lightness that can only come from trusting you. We step into this day expectant, and we hold it all loosely in your hands. Amen.

A Word of Reflection

Hope is one of the most countercultural things a person of faith can carry into an ordinary Thursday. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13). Notice that the overflow Paul describes is not something we manufacture — it is the natural result of trusting God and being filled by his Spirit. We do not have to drum up hope on our own. We simply place our trust in the right hands, and the overflow takes care of itself. Let this be the posture you carry into today: not striving, but trusting — and watching what spills over.
