Morning Prayer

Good morning, Lord. Before the coffee is poured and the day’s demands begin calling our names, we pause to thank You for the gift of waking up. Thank You for the rest You gave us through the night, for the breath in our lungs, and for the quiet promise that this new week is held in Your hands. A fresh week stretches out before us, full of plans we have made and surprises we cannot yet see, and we want to begin it right here, leaning on You. Before we check a single message or open a single calendar, we want our first conversation of the week to be with the One who already knows every step we will take.

We come honestly this morning, aware of our limits. Some of us are carrying weariness that the weekend did not fully lift. Some of us face hard conversations, heavy workloads, or quiet struggles that no one else can see. We confess that we often try to prove our strength before we ask for Yours. Today, help us to stop pretending we have it all together. Remind us that Your grace is not a reward for those who already feel strong, but a gift poured out on those who know they need it. Where we are weak, be our strength. Where we fall short, cover us with Your kindness. Where we feel inadequate, let Your power shine through.

Walk with us into every room we enter today. Give us patience with others and with ourselves, and let the grace we receive from You overflow into the way we speak, listen, and serve. When the hours grow long, whisper again that Your grace is enough for this moment and the next. We trust You with this Monday and with all that follows. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

A Word of Reflection

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9, KJV) The apostle Paul pleaded for relief from his struggle, and God answered not by removing it but by promising enough grace to carry him through. That same promise meets us at the start of every week. We do not need to manufacture strength before we begin; God’s grace arrives right on time, measured for exactly what each day requires. Our weakness is not an obstacle to God’s work but the very place where His power is displayed most clearly. As this week unfolds, may we rest in the assurance that His grace will always be sufficient.
