Evening Prayer — Steadfastness | Tuesday, August 11, 2026

Evening Prayer

As this day comes to a close, we think about the moments that tried to shake us — an unexpected change, a piece of news that unsettled us, a situation that didn’t unfold the way we hoped. Tonight, we thank You for the steadiness that held us, even when everything around us felt unpredictable.

There were moments today we felt our footing wobble, when worry tried to take root instead of trust. We release that unsteadiness now, remembering that our stability was never meant to come from calm circumstances — it comes from where we place our trust. Thank You for being the anchor we returned to, again and again, throughout this day.

As we close this day, let steadfastness settle into peace rather than lingering tension. We rest tonight, trusting that whatever tomorrow holds, we won’t be facing it unmoored. We are held, we are steady, and we are at rest.

A Word of Reflection

Steadfastness isn’t about avoiding disruption — it’s about staying anchored through it. “They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord” (Psalm 112:7) reminds us that real stability comes from trust, not from controlling outcomes. Tonight, whatever unsettled us today, we can release it, resting in a foundation that never shifts, no matter what the day brought.
