Evening Prayer
As this day comes to an end, we pause to thank You for walking with us through it all — the moments that felt certain and the ones that didn’t. There were times today when we weren’t sure how things would turn out, when we wanted answers before we were ready to trust. Tonight, we set that need for certainty aside and simply rest in who You are.
We think back over the day and see the small ways faith carried us, even when we didn’t notice it happening. A patience we didn’t expect to have. A calm that came from somewhere beyond ourselves. We didn’t need to see the whole path — we only needed to take the next step, and You were faithful to meet us there. Thank You for being trustworthy even in the parts of today we couldn’t control.
As we let go of this day, we ask for hearts still willing to believe — not because everything makes sense, but because You have always been faithful before. Let our faith settle deep tonight, steady and unshaken, so that we wake tomorrow ready to trust You again. We release today into Your hands and rest in Your unfailing faithfulness.
A Word of Reflection
Faith often grows not in the moments of clarity, but in the ones where we can’t see what’s ahead and choose to trust anyway. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for” (Hebrews 11:1) reminds us that belief has weight — it holds us up even before we see the outcome. Tonight, as we lay down our need for certainty, we can rest in the assurance that God has already gone before us. Whatever tomorrow brings, our faith doesn’t depend on having all the answers. It depends on knowing who holds them.
