Morning Prayer
Good morning, and thank You for the fresh mercy that greets us with each new day. Whatever mistakes or shortcomings we carried from last week, we don’t have to bring them into this one. This morning is a clean start, not because we’ve earned it, but because Your mercy renews itself every single day.
Help us to release any lingering guilt or self-criticism from things that didn’t go well before. Today isn’t a continuation of our failures — it’s a fresh opportunity, freely given. Let that truth shape how we treat ourselves and how we extend the same grace to others who might need a new start today too.
As we step into this week, let new mercy meet us at every turn — in our mistakes, in our weariness, in the moments we fall short again. Thank You for a compassion that never runs dry, renewing itself every morning, without fail.
A Word of Reflection
Mercy isn’t a one-time gift — it’s renewed daily, meeting us exactly where we are each morning. “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22–23) reminds us that no failure disqualifies us from a fresh start. This morning, whatever weighed on us last week, we can release it, trusting that today carries mercy made new just for us.
