Evening Prayer
As this day comes to a close, we think about the moments that asked more of us than we felt we had — a task that stretched us, a conversation that required more patience than usual. Tonight, we thank You for the strength that showed up exactly when we needed it, even in moments we didn’t consciously notice it.
There’s a quiet relief in realizing we made it through today not entirely on our own effort. We release the exhaustion that comes from trying to do everything ourselves, and we thank You for filling in the gaps our own strength couldn’t reach. Whatever felt too heavy today, we hand it over now, trusting we don’t have to carry it alone into tomorrow.
As we close this day, let our rest tonight be restorative, refueling us for whatever strength tomorrow will require. We don’t have to worry about having enough — we trust that the same source that carried us today will meet us again when morning comes.
A Word of Reflection
Strength isn’t something we manufacture through sheer effort — it’s something we draw from a source beyond ourselves. “I can do all this through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13) reminds us that our capability was never meant to be self-sufficient. Tonight, whatever depleted us today, we can rest knowing that strength isn’t ours to produce alone — it’s freely given, moment by moment, to those who lean on Him.
