Morning Prayer — New Starts | Monday, August 17, 2026

Morning Prayer

Good morning, and thank You for this new week and the fresh start it carries with it. Whatever felt unfinished, discouraging, or heavy from before, we don’t have to bring it into this week unchanged. Today is an invitation to begin again, not because we’ve earned it, but because renewal is who You are.

Help us to release old patterns and old disappointments that no longer serve us, and to walk into this week with open hands, ready to receive whatever You’re doing next. Sometimes we cling to yesterday’s setbacks longer than we need to — today, help us set them down and step forward with expectation instead.

As this week unfolds, let new starts show up in small, meaningful ways — a renewed perspective, a fresh opportunity, a willingness to try again where we’d given up. Thank You for making a way even when the path forward wasn’t clear, and for meeting us here at the beginning of something new.

A Word of Reflection

New beginnings aren’t only for dramatic life changes — they’re available in the smallest, most ordinary Mondays. “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19) reminds us that God is constantly at work, making a way forward even where we see only obstacles. This morning, whatever needs a fresh start, we can trust that God is already making room for it.
