Evening Prayer — Trust | Monday, July 20, 2026

Evening Prayer

As this day comes to a close, we think about the moments we wanted to control — the outcomes we tried to manage, the answers we wished we already had. Tonight, we release that grip and simply trust You with what’s still unresolved. We don’t need every question answered before we can rest.

There were moments today when uncertainty crept in, when we wondered if things would work out the way we hoped. We bring those moments to You now, choosing to trust that You were present in them even when we couldn’t see the outcome. Help us to let go of the need for certainty and rest instead in the certainty of who You are.

As we close this day, we place tomorrow in Your hands too. We don’t know exactly what it holds, but we trust that You do, and that is enough. We rest tonight in quiet confidence, not because everything is figured out, but because we are held by Someone who already knows the way.

A Word of Reflection

Trust isn’t the absence of uncertainty — it’s choosing to rest even in the middle of it. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5–6) reminds us that we were never meant to carry the weight of every answer ourselves. Tonight, whatever remains unresolved, we can release it, trusting that God’s understanding is far greater than our own. We rest, held by that trust, ready for whatever tomorrow brings.
