Morning Prayer — Compassion | Tuesday, July 21, 2026

Morning Prayer

Good morning, and thank You for this new day and a fresh chance to love well. As we begin, we ask for hearts soft enough to notice the people around us — their struggles, their weariness, the things they might be carrying that we can’t see at first glance. Help us to meet others with compassion rather than judgment today.

It’s easy to be patient with people who are easy to love, but we ask for the grace to extend kindness even to those who challenge our patience. Remind us that everyone we encounter today is fighting a battle we may know nothing about. Let compassion shape how we listen, how we respond, and how we forgive when things don’t go smoothly.

As we step into today, let us reflect the same gentleness You’ve shown us. Whatever frustrations or busyness this day brings, help us to pause long enough to see people clearly and respond with grace. Thank You for being endlessly compassionate with us, so that we might offer that same compassion to others.

A Word of Reflection

Compassion is a choice we make even when it isn’t easy, especially toward those who test our patience. “Clothe yourselves with compassion” (Colossians 3:12) reminds us that kindness isn’t passive — it’s something we actively put on, the way we would a garment. This morning, whatever today brings, we can choose to see others through a lens of grace rather than frustration, offering the same mercy we’ve so often received.
