Morning Prayer
Good morning, and thank You for this new day. Before we rush into all that’s waiting for us, we want to pause and receive the rest You freely offer — not just rest for tired bodies, but rest for overworked minds and anxious hearts. So much of what we carry doesn’t need to be carried the way we’ve been carrying it.
Help us to bring You the burdens we’ve been gripping too tightly — the overthinking, the pressure to have everything under control, the weariness that builds when we try to do it all alone. You’ve invited us to come to You when we’re worn out, not to prove our strength, but to receive Yours instead. Teach us that resting in You isn’t weakness — it’s where real strength begins.
As we step into today, let a quiet rest travel with us, even in the middle of a busy day. Whatever this day requires of us, we don’t have to face it exhausted or striving. We can move through it steady, at peace, and held by You.
A Word of Reflection
Rest isn’t only found in stillness — it can exist even in the middle of a full day, when we stop carrying everything alone. “Come to me, all you who are weary, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28) reminds us that God’s invitation isn’t to do more, but to release what we’ve been holding by ourselves. This morning, whatever feels heavy, we can hand it over and receive the rest that only comes from trusting Him.
