Evening Prayer
As this day comes to a close, we notice the places we feel worn thin — a mind that’s tired from decisions, a heart that’s stretched from giving. Tonight, we bring that weariness to You, not to be judged for it, but to be restored. We don’t have to manufacture our own strength for tomorrow; we simply need to rest in You tonight.
There’s a quiet grace in knowing renewal isn’t something we earn through more effort — it’s something we receive through rest. We release the tiredness we tried to push through today, the moments we kept going on empty instead of pausing. Thank You for meeting us in our depletion and promising to refill what we’ve spent.
As we close this day, let sleep be more than rest for our bodies — let it be an act of trust, a surrender that says we believe You’ll renew what today has worn down. We rest now, confident that morning will bring fresh strength, exactly when we need it.
A Word of Reflection
Renewal often begins in rest, not in striving harder. “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles” (Isaiah 40:31) reminds us that waiting on God is how strength returns, not something we generate on our own. Tonight, whatever feels spent, we can release it, trusting that morning will bring exactly the renewal we need.
