Evening Prayer
As this day comes to a close, we think about the moments that asked something brave of us — a hard conversation we didn’t want to have, a decision that required more nerve than we felt we had. Tonight, we thank You for the courage that showed up, even when it felt shaky and uncertain.
There were moments today when fear tried to hold us back, when we hesitated instead of stepping forward. We release that hesitation now, trusting that courage isn’t about never feeling afraid — it’s about moving forward anyway, with You beside us. Thank You for steadying us in the moments we felt small, and for giving us just enough boldness for what the day required.
As we close this day, let any lingering fear settle into peace. We don’t have to carry tomorrow’s uncertainties tonight — we simply rest, trusting that the same courage that carried us today will be there again when we need it.
A Word of Reflection
Courage isn’t the absence of fear — it’s choosing to move forward with God rather than staying stuck in it. “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9) reminds us that we were never meant to face hard things using our own strength alone. Tonight, whatever felt daunting today, we can release it, trusting that the same presence that gave us courage will be with us again tomorrow.
