Morning Prayer
Good morning, and thank You for this new day and for the joy that’s available in it, even before we know exactly what it holds. As we begin, we choose to notice the good things — the small delights, the simple gifts — rather than only the challenges ahead. Fill us with a joy that isn’t dependent on circumstances being perfect.
Help us to hold onto joy even in the ordinary moments today — a quiet cup of coffee, a kind word from someone we love, the simple gift of being alive and present. Remind us that joy isn’t reserved for big celebrations; it’s woven into the everyday moments when we choose to notice Your presence in them.
As we step into this Friday, let joy shape how we move through today. Whatever this day brings, we trust that true joy comes not from what happens to us, but from who You are and how close You remain. Thank You for filling our hearts with gladness as we begin.
A Word of Reflection
Joy isn’t the same as happiness — it runs deeper, rooted in God’s presence rather than circumstances. “You will fill me with joy in your presence” (Psalm 16:11) reminds us that lasting joy comes from closeness with God, not from everything going right. This morning, whatever today holds, we can carry that joy with us, trusting that His presence is enough to sustain gladness even through the ordinary and the difficult alike.
