Evening Prayer
As this day comes to a close, we look back and notice the things we almost missed being thankful for — a conversation that went well, a small provision right when we needed it, the simple gift of being able to rest tonight. Thank You for a day that, in its ordinary way, was full of quiet blessing.
It’s easy to end a day focused on what went wrong or what’s still unresolved. Tonight, we choose instead to name what went right, however small. We’re grateful for the people who made today easier, the moments of unexpected kindness, and the strength that carried us through whatever felt hard. Help us hold onto that gratitude even as we drift toward sleep.
As we close this day, let thankfulness be the last thing on our hearts rather than worry or striving. We rest tonight, grateful for today and hopeful for tomorrow, trusting that Your goodness will meet us again in the morning.
A Word of Reflection
Gratitude has a way of reshaping how we remember a day, even one that felt ordinary or difficult. “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18) reminds us that thankfulness isn’t reserved for the easy days — it’s a posture we carry through all of them. Tonight, whatever today held, we can close it with gratitude, trusting that even the small blessings were never accidental.
