Morning Prayer — Simplicity | Friday, August 28, 2026

Morning Prayer

Good morning, and thank You for this new day and for the invitation to live it simply, without the weight of worrying about everything at once. As we begin, we release the pressure to have tomorrow figured out, or next week planned perfectly. Today is enough to focus on.

Help us to resist the urge to carry more than what today actually requires. So often we complicate our lives with worries about things outside our control or far beyond this moment. Teach us to simplify our focus, trusting that You will provide for tomorrow’s needs when tomorrow comes.

As we step into this Friday, let simplicity shape how we approach today — one task, one moment, one decision at a time, without the noise of unnecessary worry. Whatever this day holds, we trust that it’s enough to handle just today well, and leave the rest in Your hands.

A Word of Reflection

Simplicity isn’t about having less — it’s about carrying only what today actually requires. “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) reminds us that peace comes from focusing on today rather than carrying every future concern at once. This morning, whatever complexity tempts us, we can simplify our focus, trusting that today’s grace is sufficient for today’s demands.
