Morning Prayer

Good morning, faithful God. Thank You for the gift of this new day, for the breath in our lungs, the light coming through the window, and the quiet promise that Your mercies are fresh again. Before the rush begins and the lists start calling our names, we want to sit with You for a moment and simply say thank You. Thank You for carrying us through the night, and thank You for the chance to begin again with You beside us.

Today we bring You the small things, the ordinary moments that so often slip past without notice. The dishes and the emails, the car rides and the phone calls, the kind word to a coworker, the patience we offer a child, the promise we keep even when no one is watching. Help us to see that none of these is too small for You. Teach us to do each one with care and love, as though we were doing it for You directly, because in truth we are. When we are tempted to rush through what seems unimportant, slow us down and remind us that faithfulness is built one quiet choice at a time.

Where we have been careless in little things, forgive us and give us fresh resolve. Where we have been faithful and felt unseen, encourage our hearts and let us know that You see it all. Shape us into people who can be trusted, people whose everyday lives point others toward Your goodness. As we step into this day, may our hands be diligent, our words be honest, and our hearts be open to the small opportunities You place before us. We offer You this day and every ordinary moment in it. Amen.

A Word of Reflection

Jesus taught a simple truth that reaches into every corner of our lives: “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.” (Luke 16:10, KJV) It is easy to believe that our faith matters most in the big, dramatic moments, but Jesus points us to the small and steady ones. The way we handle a routine task, a quiet promise, or a forgotten detail reveals the shape of our hearts. These little acts of faithfulness are not wasted; they are the training ground where God grows trust, character, and love in us. Today, as we offer Him our ordinary moments, we can believe that He sees each one and is using it for good.
