Morning Prayer — Patience | Tuesday, August 4, 2026

Morning Prayer

Good morning, and thank You for this new day and the chance to grow a little steadier in it. As we begin, we ask for patience — with the people around us, with circumstances that move slower than we’d like, and honestly, with ourselves. Help us to resist the urge to rush what needs time.

There will be moments today that test our patience — delays, frustrations, situations that don’t resolve as quickly as we want. Remind us that patience isn’t passive waiting; it’s trusting that You are still at work even when progress feels slow. Give us the steadiness to respond gently instead of reactively when things don’t go according to plan.

As we step into today, let patience shape how we treat others and how we handle the unexpected. Whatever this day asks us to wait for, help us to trust the timing rather than force our own. Thank You for being endlessly patient with us, and let that same patience flow through us today.

A Word of Reflection

Patience isn’t simply enduring delay — it’s trusting the process even when we can’t see the outcome yet. “Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete” (James 1:4) reminds us that patience is part of how we grow, not just something we tolerate. This morning, whatever tests our patience today, we can respond with steadiness, trusting that the waiting itself is shaping something good in us.
