Evening Prayer — Patience | Tuesday, August 4, 2026

Evening Prayer

As this day comes to a close, we think about the moments that tested our patience — a delay we didn’t expect, a situation that didn’t resolve as quickly as we wanted. Tonight, we release the frustration that built up in those waiting moments and thank You for the patience that carried us through, even imperfectly.

There were times today we wanted to rush what wasn’t ready to be rushed. We recognize now that waiting isn’t wasted time — it’s often where growth quietly happens. Help us release any impatience we still carry, trusting that You are working even in the delays we didn’t understand.

As we close this day, let patience settle into peace rather than lingering tension. We rest tonight, trusting that whatever remains unresolved is still held in Your timing, not ours. Thank You for being patient with us today, even as we learned to be more patient ourselves.

A Word of Reflection

Patience is less about waiting quietly and more about trusting the process, even when it’s slow. “Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete” (James 1:4) reminds us that the waiting itself shapes something valuable in us. Tonight, whatever tested our patience today, we can release it, trusting that growth doesn’t happen despite the wait — it happens because of it.
