Morning Prayer
Good morning, Lord. We rise into this new day grateful for the gift of belonging — for the people you have placed around us, the ones who carry us when we are weary and celebrate with us when we rejoice. We thank you for the body of believers, for friendships forged in faith, and for every relationship that points us back to you. Community is one of your most beautiful gifts to us, and we do not want to take it for granted.
As we step into this Wednesday, draw us closer to one another. Help us to show up — truly show up — for the people in our lives. In a world that can feel isolating and divided, let us be people who gather, who welcome, and who make room. Remind us that we are not meant to walk this journey alone, and give us the courage to reach out, to invite, to belong and to help others feel that they belong too.
Where two or three gather in your name, you promise to be present — and that promise changes everything about how we approach community. May our homes, our friendships, our churches, and our conversations today be marked by your presence. Bind us together in love and purpose, and let the world see something of you in the way we do life together. Amen.
A Word of Reflection
There is something sacred about the people God places in our lives. Community is not an accident — it is a design. When we gather with other believers, we are not simply sharing space; we are participating in something God himself shows up for. As Jesus said, For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them (Matthew 18:20). That promise is both humbling and encouraging. We do not have to manufacture his presence through our effort — we simply have to gather in his name. Today, look for the people around you and remember: in them, in that togetherness, God is near.
