Evening Prayer — Community | Wednesday, May 20, 2026

Evening Prayer

As this day comes to a close, we pause to give you thanks for the gift of one another. Lord, you did not design us to walk alone — you wove us together into families, friendships, congregations, and communities, and tonight we are grateful for every person you have placed along our path. Whether today brought moments of deep connection or quiet solitude, we trust that you are always drawing us toward each other and toward you.

We bring before you the relationships that shape our lives. For those who encouraged us today, we give thanks. For those we may have overlooked or taken for granted, we ask for softened hearts. Help us to be the kind of people who show up, who listen well, who make room at the table. You are a God who dwells in the gathered place, and we want our lives to reflect that truth.

As we lay down this Wednesday, we release to you every strained relationship, every moment of loneliness, every longing for deeper belonging. You are the one who binds us together. May we rest tonight knowing that in you, we are never truly alone — and may that peace follow us into tomorrow. Amen.

A Word of Reflection

Community is one of God’s most intentional gifts to his people. We were never meant to carry the weight of life in isolation — we were made for shared tables, honest conversations, and the quiet strength that comes from walking alongside others who love God. Jesus himself promised, For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them (Matthew 18:20). That is not a small thing. It means that when we gather with fellow believers, something holy is already present. Tonight, let gratitude for your people settle over you — and let it move you to invest even more deeply in the community God has given you.
