Morning Prayer
Father, thank you for the gift of this Thursday morning — for the mercy that made it new and the grace that carried us here. Every morning is a small resurrection, a reminder that you are not finished with us yet. We come to you fresh, laying down yesterday’s weight at your feet and stepping forward into what you have prepared for this day. New beginnings are one of your most tender mercies, and we do not take this one lightly.
There are places in our lives where we have felt stuck — patterns we have struggled to break, doors we have been waiting to see opened, dreams that have felt far off. Today we bring all of that to you with open hands. You are the God who makes all things new, and that is not just a promise for someday — it is a promise for right now, for this season, for this very morning. Renew our hope. Renew our courage. Renew our trust that you are at work even in what we cannot yet see.
Go with us into this day, Lord. Let us move with the quiet confidence of people who know that in you, every ending holds the seed of a new beginning. May we offer that same hope to the people around us — a word of encouragement, a second chance extended, a willingness to start again. You make all things new, and we are grateful. Amen.
A Word of Reflection
There is something deeply freeing about the God who specializes in new beginnings. No matter what we carry from the past, scripture assures us that his intention is always forward. As the book of Revelation declares, Behold, I am making all things new (Revelation 21:5). These are not the words of a God who is finished — they are the words of a God who is always at work, always restoring, always creating something fresh from what has been broken or left behind. This morning, let that promise land somewhere real in your life. Whatever you have been hesitant to hope for, dare to hope again. He is still making things new — including you.
