Morning Prayer
Good morning, Lord. We wake to a new day and already we feel the familiar pull of worry — the thoughts that crowd in before the light has fully come. But we choose, right now in this quiet moment, to turn our faces toward You instead. Thank You for the gift of another morning, for breath in our lungs, and for the steady reminder that we do not face this day alone.
We bring our anxieties to You openly and honestly. The concerns about the future, the uncertainties we carry, the things we simply cannot control — we lay them here at Your feet. You already know what weighs on our hearts, and You have never asked us to carry it alone. Instead, You invite us simply to come, to trust, and to receive the peace that surpasses all our understanding. We accept that invitation today, with grateful and willing hearts.
Go before us into this Friday, Lord. Walk with us through whatever this day holds. When anxiety rises, remind us to return to You — not once, but as many times as we need. We trust that You are more than enough for everything ahead. With our worries placed in Your hands, we step into this morning with hope. Amen.
A Word of Reflection
Anxiety is one of the most honest prayers we can bring to God — because in naming it, we acknowledge our need for Him. Scripture does not ask us to pretend we aren’t worried; it simply points us toward where our worry belongs. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you,” we are reminded in 1 Peter 5:7. That word “all” is an open invitation — every fear, every what-if, every restless thought. God is not overwhelmed by what overwhelms us. He is simply, faithfully waiting for us to let go.
