Evening Prayer
As this day comes to a close, we think about the ways today felt like a fresh page — a chance to leave behind old patterns, old frustrations, old versions of ourselves that weren’t serving us well. Tonight, we thank You for the courage it took to start something new, even in small, quiet ways.
There were moments today we could have fallen back into old habits, and instead we chose something different. We recognize that new beginnings aren’t always dramatic — sometimes they’re simply choosing today to respond differently than we did yesterday. Thank You for the grace to try again, and for meeting us in the effort rather than demanding perfection.
As we close this day, let us release any fear that new starts require everything to be figured out at once. We rest tonight, trusting that You are continually making a way forward, one small step at a time, even when we can’t yet see where it leads.
A Word of Reflection
New beginnings don’t require perfect conditions — they simply require a willingness to take the next step. “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19) reminds us that God is constantly at work, making room for renewal even in ordinary days. Tonight, whatever felt like a fresh start today, we can rest knowing it was never something we manufactured alone — it was something God was already making possible.
