Morning Prayer
Good morning, and thank You for this new day and for the encouragement that meets us even before we ask for it. As we begin, we want to carry a spirit that builds others up rather than tears down, remembering how much we ourselves depend on encouragement to keep going.
Help us to notice who around us might need a kind word today — someone discouraged, someone quietly struggling, someone who just needs to know they’re not alone. Let us be generous with encouragement, not saving it only for special occasions, but offering it freely in the ordinary moments of today.
As we step into today, let us also receive encouragement where we need it, rather than pretending we don’t. Whatever feels discouraging in our own hearts, remind us that we’re not meant to carry it without support. Thank You for placing people in our lives who lift us up, and let us be that same gift to someone else today.
A Word of Reflection
Encouragement is one of the simplest ways we carry each other through hard seasons. “Encourage one another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11) reminds us that this isn’t optional or occasional — it’s a continual calling. This morning, whether we’re the one needing encouragement or the one offering it, we can trust that these small words of support matter more than we often realize.
