Evening Prayer
As this week comes to a close, we think about the moments that stirred up doubt — whether we were doing enough, whether things would work out, whether we were truly secure. Tonight, we release those questions and rest in the assurance that Your love for us was never something we had to earn or maintain through performance.
There were moments this week we let uncertainty creep in, forgetting that our standing with You isn’t fragile or conditional. We recognize now that assurance isn’t about eliminating every doubt — it’s about trusting a love that holds steady even when we waver. Thank You for remaining constant through a week that, in its own way, tested our confidence.
As we close this week, let assurance settle into rest tonight. We don’t have to carry uncertainty into the weekend — we can release it fully, trusting that nothing about this week, or any week, could ever separate us from Your love.
A Word of Reflection
Assurance doesn’t come from having zero doubts — it comes from trusting a love that remains constant despite them. “Neither death nor life… will be able to separate us from the love of God” (Romans 8:38–39) reminds us that our security has never depended on our certainty. As this week ends, we can rest fully, trusting that we remain held, regardless of how steady or shaky the week felt.
