Evening Prayer
As this day comes to a close, we think about the choices we faced — some simple, others requiring more thought than we expected. Tonight, we thank You for the moments of clarity that showed up, even when we weren’t entirely sure which way to go.
There were moments today we acted on impulse instead of pausing to consider what truly mattered. We release that hastiness now, recognizing that discernment often asks us to slow down before responding. Thank You for the wisdom that guided us, even in decisions we made without fully realizing we were being led.
As we close this day, let discernment continue to grow in us — not as pressure to have every answer, but as an ongoing willingness to seek clarity before we act. We rest tonight, trusting that tomorrow will bring the same wisdom we needed today.
A Word of Reflection
Discernment isn’t about instantly knowing the right choice — it’s about growing in the capacity to recognize what’s best over time. “That your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may discern what is best” (Philippians 1:9–10) reminds us that wisdom deepens as we remain open to it. Tonight, whatever choices today required, we can rest knowing that clarity is something we’re continually growing into, not something we must already possess.
