Evening Prayer
As this day comes to a close, we think about the words that lifted us today — a kind text, an unexpected compliment, a simple “you’ve got this” that arrived exactly when we needed it. Tonight, we thank You for the encouragement that carried us, and for the people You used to offer it.
We also think about the moments we could have offered encouragement and didn’t — times we stayed quiet when a kind word would have meant something. We release that missed opportunity now, asking for a heart more attentive to who around us needs support. Thank You for the encouragement we received today, even in small, easily overlooked forms.
As we close this day, let us carry a spirit that continues building others up, starting fresh tomorrow. We rest tonight, grateful for every word that strengthened us, and hopeful that we’ll be that same strength for someone else soon.
A Word of Reflection
Encouragement doesn’t require grand gestures — often it’s a simple word offered at just the right moment. “Encourage one another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11) reminds us that this is a continual calling, not a rare exception. Tonight, whatever encouragement we received or gave today, we can rest knowing that these small moments carry real weight in each other’s lives.
