Evening Prayer
As this day comes to a close, we finally let the noise settle — the tasks, the notifications, the constant motion that filled today. Tonight, we pause here in quiet, remembering that stillness isn’t something we have to earn after everything is finished. It’s something we can simply receive right now.
There were moments today we rushed past without pausing to notice You, moments we let busyness crowd out any sense of quiet. We release that pace now, choosing to slow down before sleep and simply rest in Your presence. Thank You for waiting patiently for us to return to stillness, even when we filled our day with hurry.
As we close this day, let stillness be the last posture of our hearts before rest — not distracted, not rushing toward tomorrow, but simply present with You. We rest tonight, quiet and unhurried, trusting that You are near in the silence.
A Word of Reflection
Stillness isn’t the absence of a full life — it’s the presence of quiet trust within it. “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10) reminds us that pausing to remember who God is brings a peace that busyness never can. Tonight, whatever noise filled today, we can set it down and rest in quiet confidence, trusting that God was present in it all, even the hurried moments.
