Evening Prayer — Joy | Friday, July 31, 2026

Evening Prayer

As this week comes to a close, we look back and notice the moments of joy scattered through it — a laugh we didn’t expect, a small win that lifted our spirits, a quiet gladness that showed up even on an ordinary day. Tonight, we thank You for those moments, and for the joy that doesn’t depend on everything going perfectly.

There’s a kind of joy that runs deeper than circumstances, and tonight we choose to rest in that. Even in the parts of this week that were hard, we can look back and find reasons to be glad — for Your presence, Your provision, Your faithfulness through it all. We release any weight from the week and let joy have the final word tonight.

As we close this week, let gladness settle into our hearts, not because everything was easy, but because You were with us through it. We rest tonight full of quiet joy, grateful for a week that, in its own way, reflected Your goodness.

A Word of Reflection

Joy isn’t something we manufacture through perfect circumstances — it’s something we receive through closeness with God. “You will fill me with joy in your presence” (Psalm 16:11) reminds us that true joy is rooted in relationship, not outcomes. As this week ends, we can carry that joy into rest tonight, trusting that His presence made even the hard moments bearable, and the good moments even sweeter.
